Archaeological Places in Jordan

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan ( Jordan ) is an Arab kingdom in the Middle East, on the East Bank of the River Jordan . Its population is about 6 million people. It has a moderate climate . its official language is Arabic and its currency is Jordanian Dinar ( JD ).
If you visit Jordan you are recommended to visit its magnificent ancient places. It is like an open museum in which you can find everything that enchants you and takes your breath.
Petra or  pink city
Is an Arabian historical and archaeological city in the Jordanian governorate of Ma'an, that is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Established possibly as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans .it is a symbol of Jordan, as well as its most visited tourist attraction. It is a city that is carved in the rocks .the visitor will touch the greatness of this city as they see the homes of its people in the rocks.

The Dead Sea
Is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and the West Bank to the west. Its surface and shores are 423 meters (1,388 ft) below sea level,[2] Earth's lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 377 m (1,237 ft) deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 33.7% salinity, it is also one of the world's saltiest bodies of water, though Lake Assal (Djibouti), Garabogazköl and some hypersaline lakes of the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica (such as Don Juan Pond) have reported higher salinities. It is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean.[4] This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 67 kilometres (42 mi) long and 18 kilometres (11 mi) wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.

Jerash
Recent excavations show that Jerash was already inhabited during the Bronze Age (3200 BC - 1200 BC). After the Roman conquest in 63 BC, Jerash and the land surrounding it were annexed by the Roman province of Syria, and later joined the Decapolis cities. In AD 90, Jerash was absorbed into the Roman province ofArabia, which included the city of Philadelphia (modern day Amman). The Romans ensured security and peace in this area, which enabled its people to devote their efforts and time to economic development and encouraged civic building activity.
Nowadays, Jerash annual arts festival is being held in which singers an performers come form all over the world to perform on Jerash’s theater stage .

Mount Nebo
Is an elevated ridge that is approximately 817 meters (2680 feet) above sea level, in Jordan. The view from the summit provides a panorama of the Holy Land and, to the north, a more limited one of the valley of the River Jordan. The West Bank city of Jericho is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day.

Thob Jiditi ثوب جدتي

Traditional dresses is one of the most beautiful and eye catching pieces in Jordan. Middle east is known for its style of traditional dresses where the manual embroidery is main craft used to make these dresses.

For many generations women dominated on the embroidery tasks, and each one of them put a part of her soul in the dress when she made it. For that you find each one gives the dress for her daughter, and when the next generation rise the mother will give the same dress to her daughter and so on. And each one of these women cherished and proud for having these dresses.

On the other hand as most of the traditional crafts, new generations start forgetting about it with time passing. For such a reason Majida and a group of ladies decide to establish their own shop to make these generations see the beauty of the traditional dress. They named the shop (Thob Jiditi) which mean "My Grandmother Dress'" reflecting the soul of the old ladies who start this craft.
These days if you try to convince a young or middle age lady to wear a traditional dress you will get a lot of hard time, and this is reasonable when you are looking for the fashion of these days. For that Thob Jiditi made agreements with more than one designer to make these dresses fit with the modern fashion styles. For that you will find dresses, jackets, outfits, and accessories which have the traditional look and on the same time fit with all of your occasions and places.
The new line of embroidery is fit for your work, home, family gathering, meetings, or a dinner with your future husband. And yet you will feel that no one else have something like it which will gives you the warm feeling of being special.
